Dried buckthorn berries help prevent cardiovascular diseases. If you eat the same weight oranges as buckthorns berries you get 3 to 60 times as much vitamin C. form the berries.
The berry is naturally sour and has a citrus-like taste. You can use them in for example: homemade jam, chutney and pastries. Let them pull into (herbal) tea. Or sprinkle them on your muesli, stir them in your yogurt or dessert with fresh fruit and use them in a fresh green salad with other (dried) fruits, nuts and full (old) farmers cheese.
