Cistus - application

Dried cistus (as a dietary supplement) should be consumed as an infusion prepared as follows: Pour 10 g of cistus into a cup (approx. 3 tablespoons). Pour 400 ml of water and bring to a boil. Brew 2-5 minutes. You can drink with lemon and honey, up to 3-4 times a day, for 100 ml.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. The product cannot be used by people who are allergic to any of its ingredients. Keep out of the reach of small children. Store in a dry place at room temperature in tightly closed packaging.

Where it comes from and what characterizes the purges

Cistus is a shrub belonging to the Cistus family. We can meet as many as 50 of its species in the world. Under natural conditions, this plant grows in West Asia and the Mediterranean Basin. The cistus usually reaches a height of 60 cm to a maximum of 100 cm. Its flowers are slightly wrinkled and take on a white and pink color. Both in herbal medicine and cosmetology, the most commonly used is the gray cultivar (Cistus Incanus). Nevertheless, species such as: Cistus Lauriofolius, Cistus Ladaniferus and Cistus Salviofolius are also used. It is also worth knowing that the leaves and stems of this plant are most often used for pharmaceutical purposes.

The pro-health action of the purge has been supported by numerous studies. They indicate, first of all, the fact that the polyphenols contained in this plant contribute to the inhibition of the development of inflammation, and thus to strengthen the immune system. In addition, the compounds contained in the leaves of Cistus can contribute to the detoxification of our body, and thus have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the liver.

The numerous antioxidants that are part of the purge are also important for our health. Among other things, they contribute to the fight against harmful bacteria in the upper respiratory tract. It is also worth knowing that the products obtained from the leaves and stems of this plant are used in the treatment of certain skin diseases. In addition, on the basis of specialist studies, it was found that the use of a purging can help to inhibit the development of fungal infections, as well as alleviate the symptoms of acne or dandruff. In herbal medicine, a cistus decoction is intended for both external and internal use. Its use is recommended in the case of:
- Infections of a fungal nature;
- inflammation of the digestive system;
- inflammation of the upper respiratory tract;
- inflammation of the within the genital tract;
- Cleansing acne-affected skin.
- When supporting the treatment of the above disorders, inhalations, rinses and drinking a purgative infusion are recommended.
