Macadamia oil is a rich source of omega fatty acids; it also contains natural essential oils. It is the only vegetable oil that contains palmitoleic acid, which resembles the composition of sebum produced by human skin. It is very easy to spread, absorbs well, and hydrates effectively.

Macadamia is a large, evergreen tree that grows in warm and humid climates. Most macadamia trees grow in New Zealand, Hawaii, and Australia. Macadamia nuts have a very hard shell, light or dark brown in color, that can only be opened with a special knife. Macadamia fruits resemble hazelnuts and are edible. They are considered one of the sweetest in the world.

An interesting fact is that macadamia nuts and oil can be harmful and even toxic to dogs.
