Macadamia is a large, always green tree that grows in a warm and humid climate. Most macadamia trees grow in New Zealand, Hawaii and Australia. Macadamia nuts have a very hard shell, light or dark brown in color, which can only be opened with a special knife. Macadamia fruits resemble hazelnuts and are edible. They are considered to be one of the sweetest in the world.
