Thyme Oil Description
Thyme oil is obtained by steam distillation of flowering thyme Thymus vulgaris. It has an intense, spicy aroma and is often used in various applications. The main components of thyme oil are thymol and carvacrol.
Thyme is an herb often used as a spice in cooking and also found in natural cosmetics. Thyme oil is one of the many ways to utilize this herb.
Application of Thyme Oil
Thyme oil can be added to cosmetics such as creams, facial and body oils, detergents, shampoos, or hair conditioners. It can also be used in combination with other essential oils. Add 13 drops per 100 ml of cosmetics (concentration 0.5%).
Massage oil: add 6-7 drops to 25 ml of base oil (concentration 1%), such as almond oil, apricot oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil. Warm the mixture for a relaxing body massage.
Aromatherapy: add 5-10 drops of thyme oil or an oil blend to water in an aroma diffuser for use in a fireplace.
Baths: add up to 20 drops of thyme oil to salt, honey, or yogurt and mix it into bathwater for a pleasant experience.
