An undemanding, long-flowering honey plant. Flowers single or double, with green, fringed bracts. Suitable for border plantings and beds in naturalistic gardens. The decorative seed pods and flowers are suitable for drying. Nigella seeds have a sharp, spicy taste and are added as a spice to cheeses, bread, and fatty meats. The leaves can be used as an herb. Grows well in any garden soil. Sow at a depth of 1 cm directly in open ground IV-V.
