Forms strong and compact leaf rosettes with a weight of 0.5-1.5 kg. Sow at a spacing of 30-35x25-30 cm at the beginning of July directly in the ground or as potted seedlings. Harvest 40-50 days after sowing. Can be consumed as an addition to salads, after cooking, stewing like asparagus. Leaf blades can be prepared like spinach or eaten raw. Tolerates frost down to -5°C. Requires abundant watering.
