A plant for pot cultivation. Its ornament is dark red fruit, glossy, distinctly veined leaves, and white, pleasantly fragrant flowers. It forms low, evergreen small trees 1–2 m tall. It prefers warm, bright places and slightly acidic soil. The seeds germinate at 24°C. Before sowing, they should be soaked in lukewarm water for 24 hours and the thin seed coat removed. The seeds should only be pressed into the substrate, not covered with soil.
