A perennial with striking club-shaped inflorescences composed of yellow-red tubular flowers. Excellent plant for planting around water features, borders, as a solitary specimen on lawns, and as a cut flower. Sow the seeds in pots from April to June. Plant in the ground in July. Thrives well in sandy or moderately compact, moderately moist soil in a sunny location. It is advisable to protect the plants for winter with leaf piles or peat.
