Broad beans dried | 400g

Field beans are an ancient crop that is currently very popular due to the large amount (over 27%) of plant-based proteins. Field beans contain more protein than the well-known bean varieties. Plant-based proteins are an excellent substitute for animal proteins.

Field Bean Soup:

Treat the whole field beans the same as peas (soak, cook, and grind). Then use the same ingredients as for pea soup.

Snack Beans:

- 35 minutes preparation time
- for 2 people

Ingredients: 100 g soaked field beans, 1 tablespoon canola oil

Version 1:
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Version 2:
- 2 tablespoons rosemary
- 2 teaspoons Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

How to make it: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Chop the leaves of the fresh rosemary into small pieces (dried rosemary can also be used, does not need to be chopped). Put the field beans in a mixing bowl. Add the herbs, salt, and oil. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spread the field beans over the parchment paper. Place the baking sheet in the oven. Stir the beans after 15 minutes. Stir the beans again after 10 minutes. Remove the beans from the oven after baking for 30-40 minutes and let cool. When making the snack beans, you can add herbs to taste. The versions shown here are examples of flavor combinations.
