Cordyceps is a type of parasitic fungus from the Ophiocordycipitaceae family. It occurs naturally on the Tibetan Plateau, in mountainous areas at approximately 3,000 to 4,000 metres above sea level. For its growth and development, Cordyceps sinensis uses caterpillars of moths from the genus Thitarodes, which are usually found a few centimetres below the ground. The mycelium grows from the larvae towards the surface of the earth and forms a fruiting body that looks like a small club.

Cordyceps has a slightly bitter taste and a meaty aroma. Biotechnological methods using artificial substrates are also used for large-scale cultivation. Cordyceps contains, among other things, nucleotides, amino acids and polysaccharides, and is used as an ingredient in food supplements.

Cordyceps mushroom extract standardized to 40% polysaccharides is used in this product. The amount of extract per capsule is 500 mg.
