One of the most hardy and low-maintenance mint species, valued both for its medicinal properties (it has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects – it alleviates cold symptoms) and for its attractiveness as an ornamental plant with light-purple, nectar-bearing flowers gathered in loose spikes and long, aromatic leaves covered with a delicate fuzz. Its excellent refreshing taste makes it a great addition to teas, drinks, beverages, ice cream, and salads. Sow in April under cover or in May directly into the ground. Before sowing, the seeds should be placed in the refrigerator for 7 days. Then sow the seeds, ensuring a temperature of about 25°C. Emergence takes 2–3 weeks.
