An intriguing ornamental and vegetable plant, with shoots covered in sharply indented leaves that can be prepared like spinach, and red, edible fruits that taste similar to strawberries or mulberries. Sow seeds under cover in April or directly into the ground at a depth of up to 1 cm in the first half of May. Germination occurs after 7-14 days. It grows best in fertile, moderately moist soil and a sunny location.
