A very interesting, edible plant originating from Asia, which is also used as an ornamental plant. In our conditions it is grown as an annual vegetable or as a perennial ornamental plant. The dark, purple leaves are crisp and have a delicate flavor. The seeds should be soaked in water for 10-15 hours before sowing. Sow in a warm frame in March or directly in open ground in May.
