Blue gum | Exotic seeds

A broadly spreading, moderately dense, evergreen tree with smooth grey-cream bark that peels off in long strips, as in a plane tree. The leaves of young plants are white-blue in colour and lie close to the shoots. White or cream-coloured flowers appear from spring to summer. A plant for pot cultivation; in summer it can be placed on the terrace, balcony or in the garden. Sow the seeds in spring or summer in fertile, slightly acidic garden soil, at a temperature of 18–25ºC. During the growing period, water abundantly and fertilise with a liquid, compound fertiliser; in winter, water sparingly. They tolerate temperature drops down to –5ºC.
