Blue gum | Exotic seeds

A spreading, moderately dense, evergreen tree with smooth grey-cream bark that peels off in long strips like a plane tree. The leaves of young plants are white-blue in colour, cling to the shoots, and release essential oils that have a beneficial effect on the respiratory tract. White or cream-coloured flowers appear from spring to summer. A plant for container growing; in summer it can be put out on a terrace, balcony, or in the garden. Sow the seeds in spring or summer in fertile, slightly acidic garden soil at a temperature of 18–25°C. During the growth period, water generously and fertilise with a liquid multi-component fertiliser; in winter, water sparingly. They tolerate temperature drops down to –5°C.
